How to Reduce Therapy Cost (1).png

How does payment work?

Practical Speech is a "private-pay" therapy practice; meaning that we have not signed in-network contracts with any insurance companies. This allows us to practice excellent, specialized therapy without having insurance companies dictate what type of assessments and treatments we provide. We are not “in-network” and do not submit insurance claims on your behalf to your insurance company. Instead, we send out superbills once a month for you to submit on your own to your insurance company for reimbursement. Most of our clients receive partial reimbursement for their therapy, but each plan is different so we do not guarantee that your insurance plan will reimburse for services. We are happy to provide any additional information you may need to submit your insurance claim.

How can I reduce the cost of therapy?

One way to reduce the cost of therapy is to replace in-person sessions with virtual sessions. We recommend scheduling in-person sessions at least once a month, and scheduling virtual sessions held over Zoom for the rest of the month. For more information on how this can be applied to your therapy treatment plan, please see our infographic below!

Do you offer any discounts?

Practical Speech Philly is proud to offer a 15% discount to teachers, military members, and first responders. Please submit this form after making your appointment request and we will review your eligibility for a discount.

Is there different pricing for a re-evaluation?

We want to make it easy for patients to come back after taking a break from therapy, so we don't charge for re-evaluations. Please let us know if you would like a re-evaluation after taking a therapy break and we will book you for an extended (45-minute) appointment slot. The extended appointment is more expensive than a regular session (but significantly cheaper than an assessment) but is necessary to give time to look at each domain (speech, language, feeding, myo).
